Still Waiting

In February we put a deposit on a new puppy expecting to bring him home around the end of May. Well the breeder has two litters of chocolates and both have been without a chocolate male. Maybe we should not of been so specific on gender but I have a son who is the only boy. His cousins are all girls, he has a sister and all he wants is a boy dog to be his best friend. He feels very out numbered when the family gets together and wants just one more boy around furry or not.

Although we have his name picked... ROWDY. His cage ready we are still waiting. Another litter is due the end of this month and we are desperately hoping that this one will have our little Rowdy.

Fingers crossed.

Awaiting the birth of our new puppy

Back in September 2014 we said goodbye to our beloved 13 year old Chocolate Lab named Gizmo. It was one of the worst days of my life. Since his death the house has not felt like a home. We took our time to grieve and then we realized our family is not a family without a dog. The day has come to add another goofy chocolate lab to the mix. We have our preference a chocolate male which we will call Rowdy. So after much research we have put our name in with a breeder for an upcoming puppy. We are all anxiously awaiting the puppies birth at the end of this month. This blog will cover the adventures and travels of our family with Rowdy.

While we wait we will be researching items we need for bringing our new pup home, looking for puppy school, and reading up on crate training. Any recommendations are welcome.
